DeGrazia’s Roadrunners
“DeGrazia’s Roadrunners” offers a delightful exploration of the artist’s fascination with the iconic desert bird. DeGrazia’s close observation of the roadrunner informed this selection of drawings, watercolors, oil paintings, and sculptures, dating from 1953 to 1980. The works capture the bird’s confident and curious nature as it hunts, runs, halts, struts, and preens.
This exhibit will open on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, with an opening reception from 5 – 7 p.m. at the DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun Museum, 6300 North Swan Road, Tucson, Arizona.
The Gallery has partnered with Whiskey Del Bac to offer a complimentary tasting of a whiskey bottled especially for the Gallery with a limited-edition label featuring DeGrazia’s “Monster of Quitovac.” Bottles will be available for purchase during the reception, as well as during normal hours of operation, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024 only.
The exhibit will be on display through January 29, 2025.
