DeGrazia’s Pastels
Rarely Seen Works on Display:
For the first time since his passing, the impressionistic beauty of Ted DeGrazia’s pastels will take center stage at the Gallery in the Sun. DeGrazia’s Pastels opens September 5th, 2025, and offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience this side of the artist’s work.
Created between 1953 and 1978, many of these pastel drawings have never been displayed before. Their soft textures and vibrant colors reveal another dimension of DeGrazia’s creativity, capturing subjects ranging from intimate portraits to expressive demonstrations. Among the highlights are live demonstration pieces, drawings DeGrazia created on the spot while speaking at public events, giving audiences an unforgettable glimpse into his process.
The exhibit will be on view through January 28th, 2026, inside the Gallery’s adobe walls, where the warm desert light and the artist’s hand-built architecture create a perfect setting for these rarely seen works.
An opening night reception will be held Friday, September 5th, from 5–7 p.m. Enjoy light refreshments as you wander the galleries and experience this extraordinary new collection. The event is free and open to the public.
Join us at DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun, 6300 North Swan Road, Tucson, to celebrate the unveiling of DeGrazia’s Pastels—a moving tribute to the artist’s enduring spirit and creativity.
