Brush Drawings of Ted DeGrazia

Expressive Lines in Motion:

Sometimes the simplest tools reveal the deepest artistry. In Brush Drawings of Ted DeGrazia, opening September 5th, 2025, visitors will discover the raw energy and expressive power of works created without the use of a pen.

Dating from 1945 to 1963, these paintings highlight a dynamic period in DeGrazia’s career, with most pieces completed in the 1950s. Each brushstroke captures motion and feeling, whether it’s a child at play, a ballerina mid-dance, a cowboy at work, or musicians lost in their song. Horses, miners, and other iconic figures of the Southwest also appear, rendered with bold simplicity that conveys both strength and grace.

On view through January 28th, 2026, the exhibit invites visitors to step closer and appreciate the immediacy of DeGrazia’s brushwork, which is gestural, spontaneous, and alive with character.

An opening night reception will be held Friday, September 5th, from 5–7 p.m. Enjoy light refreshments as you stroll through the Gallery’s adobe halls and see these striking works unveiled for the first time in years. The event is free and open to all.
