GROUP TOURS

Guided group tours are available Monday-Friday. Scheduled tours began at 10:00 am and usually last about an-hour-an-a-half (11:30 am.) Allow extra time for viewing the documentary (30 minutes) and the gift shop.

For school tours, teachers are responsible for providing adequate supervision and arranging transportation. Reimbursement for transportation costs may be available from the DeGrazia Foundation. There is a maximum of 35 students per tour: one tour per day. There is no fee for a guided tour.

The tour consists of walking through Ted and Marion DeGrazia’s old house, the Mission in the Sun, their burial sites, and the main gallery. Groups will be outside for about 30 minutes, so wear appropriate clothing/shoes. Teachers are encouraged to have their students bring a sack lunch to eat afterwards, outside.

Groups can expect to learn and discuss topics dealing with desert horticulture, recycling, art techniques, Native American legends and ceremonies, Arizona’s history, and the life, history, and philosophy of the unique and prolific artist- Ettore DeGrazia.
